In April, rowers from the Marist College Crew Team discovered a giant styrofoam and fiberglass head floating in the chilly waters of the Hudson River. It was something like right out of a scene in some post-apocalyptic thriller. Where the piece came from, was a mystery.
The Poughkeepsie Journal reports that the piece was originally part of a store display in New York City, before it was placed on a hillside at a property owned by a couple in Oneonta. How it came to be floating in the river remains a mystery though, as Oneonta is nowhere near the Hudson.
And now a new mysterious chapter unfolds for the odd object. It has gone missing from the Marist boat house where it was being kept. Originally it was stored inside, but later stored outside because it took up so much space. Where the giant head is now is anyone's guess.
